While there is a disability component in the Aboriginal Skills and Employment Strategy (ASETS,) CFT7 encourages T7 employment centres and urban contracts to include their people with disabilities (who self-identify) in all their services and activities. To that end, the collective challenge is to ensure that Aboriginal people with disabilities benefit fully from all aspects of the Strategy including funds under other components of the Strategy (labour market, urban and youth.)
CFT7 Disability Program is committed to building capacity and community development.
Community Futures Treaty Seven Promotes best practices in disability employment and marketing through its disability component under the ASETS. CFT7 supports the development and expansion of program delivery both on and off reserve.
We explore and advocate for inclusion in our respective communities by seeking innovative practices of organizations that are actively hiring, training, retaining and supporting employment for First Nations People with disabilities.
